The book waa very enlightening. It gave a wealth of information not only on the hot spots to see and things to do but also has information regarding travel safety, best times to go and even gives suggestions of itineraries to help plan out your trip. I loved that it covered so many of the places we would be visiting and even provided links to many of the suggested places to visit. Great buy! Definte must read before going to Scandinavia!

This book is self published and it shows. There is a certain charm to the way 400 years of history is summed up in one sentence saying something like "somehow the city regained its spirit in 1808" or the goofy discussion of Icelandic drinking water (I think it's safe but smells like sulfur?) but the gaps in reliable info mean I will be buying another book--published in 2015 by rick steves.

Poorly written without very much meaningful information. Don't waste your money on this guide.

Does not give any history or background of the historic places. Good only for restaurant and important places to be visited .

DeLorme publishes very decent atlases, including this one of the two smallest New England states, Connecticut and Rhode Island. The maps in the book are at a scale of one inch to 11 miles, and the detail is fairly good outside downtown metropolitan areas. Certainly, the map sheets are good enough to anywhere a driver might need to go. Not necessarily useful for off-road navigation. The atlas includes a gazetteer and listings of parks and recreation sites. Recommended.

Unbelievable and disappointing that there is no close up street map of Newport, RI, a major town, a huge economic hub, historical interest, etc.Description should just disclose what's included.Spotty detail.I just expected much more from Delorme, a stellar map publisher.Good map of Providence however.

I've found these to be the best. As an avid motorcyclist seeking the challenges of tarmac, I just look for the squiggliest lines and try to get to them. I really appreciate knowing in advance whether I'm climbing a mountain or squeezing into a narrow gorge.

Unlike atlases for all other states, this one has blurry images. It looks like the publisher first created the images, and then upscaled them for some reason, but it created blur around all lines.

Excellent in every respect. One (minor) fault of almost all volumes of maps: centering / binding of some pages is awkward.

Arrived even though we had a snow storm

use these maps to find unpaved roads particularly in state parks. like all map books it is sometimes hard to follow at the margins.that said the info is all there and very helpful

Wonderful collection of pictures. This book is on my living room table so my friends can pick it up anytime and enjoy pictures from the National Geographic history.

I was encouraged to purchased this book because of the rave reviews. I'm beginning to question if these reviews are real ?The book is printed in China on cheap paper and the images in many photos are blurred.I'm extremely disappointed in this book and will return it tomorrow.The price is inexpensive and it shows that you get what you pay for.

This book is small enough to keep on my dining room table. I flip thru the pages every day - and each time I see a picture differently than before. As an amateur photographer it helps me understand lighting and camera angles. And buying it used makes it budget friendly.

I purchased this book as a gift, but found that I can't keep my hands off it..incredible photos from the archives of Nat Geo every topic from nature scenes to rare incredible animal shots to history's most famous people (as well as people you've never seen)This is the must-have of coffee table books.

Not a fan of this book! There are some great books in this manners series by Michael Dahl but this is not one of them. (Nor is'Mouse Says Sorry") The Hippo in the story crowds his/her way in to places where there is clearly not room. The hippo is shown walking on the sidewalk literally knocking other animals out of the way as it throws out an off the cuff "Excuse me!". At the end of the story the hippo does insist that everyone makes room inside the already crowded elevator for a tiny chick stating "Excuse me, there is always room for one more." ...which is true, unless you are a giant Hippo who lacks social skills. Once again I failed to do my due diligence of checking out a book from the library before purchasing a copy for my home. A few great books from an author doesn't guarantee they will all be great. Especially when it comes to teaching children manners and social skills.

I love the Hello Genius series.Both of my children have read the books in the series over and over. They explain a simple concept in a very clear way.Hippo Says Excuse Me is not my favorite- Hippo is large and as he is walking down the street, getting on public transport, getting in an elevator- he says "excuse me" to the other animals.My kids were about 2 years old when they started engaging in these books and around 4 they stopped requesting the books at bedtime.Little Monkey Calms Down and Little Elephant Listens are two favorites (the kids memorized them).I believe this series teaches basic life skills that are important for children to know. I noticed my kids saying "excuse me" and "please" more often after reading particular books in the series.

My son LOVES this book and some of the other Hello Genios manners books. He can easily follow along the story and know that he is starting to talk, he is trying to say "excuse me" when the story prompts. There are various animals through out the story and he also likes to list the animals as we turn the page.

Hippos. They're huge. But the hippo in this book is unusually polite, and seems very aware of just HOW huge he is in comparison to others -- he's always saying "excuse me" to ride the bus, etc. My toddler is just getting into learning manners (18 months and starting to speak) but she's interested in what the hippo does and says. She especially likes the ending (SPOILER ALERT!) where the hippo is on a crowded elevator, and a little chick asks to ride it too...everyone says no, but hippo lets the little chick ride on his head (after saying "excuse me, there's always room for one more." to the other animals, reminding them of their manners in a very mature way, indeed). I liked that subtle put-'em-in-their-place move by the genial hippo...I'm probably reading waaaaaay too into it, but still, it was amusing.

Buy this book for your newborn! It's insane how much they love the BIG color contrasts in these books. My son is 3 months and stares at these books more than any other. Incredible and so sweet to watch such a small baby have a book read to them.

Love these books and I'm sure we have almost every one of them by now. These are easy for my daughter to follow along with and learn from. Started reading these to my daughter when she started biting at about a year and she's been picking different books from this series for the past 8 months when it's story time.

This book has incredibly cute illustrations and my son was so excited when we got this one to go with his other Hello Genius manners books, but the text isn't the greatest. All of these manners books are repetitive (which is good for kiddos learning) and I found "Bear Says Thank You" to be a fun read for both my son and I, however this book bores me. Be ready to say the title of the book on nearly every page. Despite my negativity toward reading this book my 2 year old son still likes it so I guess it attracts the right audience.

We have read just about all of Michael Dahl's books for children and have yet to find one that dissappoints. It can sometimes be difficult to find a children's book that has just the right amount of words for a toddler that also has illustrations that will keep the attention of an older child. I highly recommend any of Michael Dahl's books, but Hippo Says Excuse Me and Bunny Eats Lunch are my kids' favorites.

Purchased at my mother’s request. As do most of the “exit” type books, it advocates a particular method which is almost impossible for the average person to arrange. It left her feeling helpless and locked into a life she hated.

This is a book with advice on which pills to take your life. The thing I have to say is most are now pretty much impossible to get in the US especially. You can't go over to Mexico like before-maybe on the dark net.

The first half of the book is wonderful and is worth buying just for this part. But the last half (All about Nembutal, the gold standard of euthanasia) is a disappointment. The author says the book is updated every year, but it isn't. Almost all the guidance about where to obtain Nembutal is way out of date. From 2010. I heard elsewhere that almost all the places to buy the product no longer sell it, since being listed in The Peaceful Pill has drawn too much unwanted attention and they are bombarded with eager customers.

This book was interesting to read. I certainly believe that all people have the right to peacefully end their lives at the time of their choosing. Society, by systematically removing all the painless ways to do it, speaks not to a concern or respect for human life, but rather a deeper Christian ethos to inflict punishment and guilt on anyone who dares challenge our culture's paralyzing fear of death. It is a brave thing to write a book about this subject in this day and age.I think many will purchase this book to find out how to buy Nembutal. It seems that situation changes so quickly however that the book already feels out of date. I would recommend buying the online edition with its frequent updates, though it's strange why they charge so much more for it.

Describes various means of ending one's life without needing assistance from anyone else. It takes into account and analyses factors such as certanty of result, distress or unpleasant symptoms and risks to others.

This is the only book of its kind that I've read that is so thoroughly researched. It's a pretty comprehensive study of the various ways there are to end one's life. And each method is rated in many categories including effectiveness, ease of obtaining the required materials, painlessness, etc. Near the end of the book there is a good description of how to obtain the best drug (in Mexico) and includes very helpful pictures of the products. I can seriously see cutting the pictures out and showing them to a clerk in Mexico who might otherwise not be able to figure out what I was looking for (because of language difficulties). However, you pay a stiff price to get this information in paperback form ($35.),there is a lot of scientific "padding" to fill out the pages and that is why I gave it four stars instead of five. However, it is the only game in town at this time as far as I know so I'm glad that I have it in my library in spite of the high cost.

The Peaceful Pill HandbookUnique, informative and a 'must read' for all those wishing to make an informed choice about 'end of life issues'.How wonderful that Dr Nitschke and Dr Stewart have had the guts to research the subject of Euthanasia and written this fantastic book.The 2012 revised edition is even more up to date and informative than the previous edition.To have all this information at one's fingertips, to make informed reliable choices has given me a true sense of freedom/peace of mind to know that I can and will control, if and when I will end my life.Also knowing that there are gentle painfree methods to do this, and how to access these.I am currently in good health, 72 years old and take comfort in knowing that I won't have to suffer when my time comes.It is a huge relief to learn that there are painless ways of departing from the enduring pain of many incurable medical conditions or disabilities.This book is a total gem, Keep up this excellent work.
