Very interesting book. It doesn't really have to be read cover to cover to get the benefit of the information in there. It can be used as a pretty comprehensive reference manual. Great information in there. I have some experience with macro photography, and I found it very helpful in picking up some new ideas. For a complete beginner, however, some parts of it may be a little daunting. The author does try to make it a guide that anyone can use, and to that end is very successful.
Excellent book on Macro and close-up photography. Goes into detail on equipment and technique which I needed help with. If you enjoy close-up or Macro photography you can't go wrong with this book, well worth the price.
I found the iinfo that this book gave me has helped me to get better shots and understand how to do it.
