“Twisted Deception” is very well written and keeps readers turning the pages— “Just one more page then I’ll turn out the light”—not going to happen.Two rapists on the loose, a woman badly beaten in an elevator, a truly nasty dyke threatening a lawsuit, an over-worked woman detective, and a slow-burn love story combine to make this my favorite Isabella novel—she has 12 of them published.My favorite thing of all was that I couldn’t figure out the killer/rapist until Isabella revealed who it was. I love books that keep me guessing.Mystery, suspense, romance and excellent writing combine to make this one of the best books of the year. I highly recommend it.

Just wow! A lot of emotions throughout the entire story and there are chapters that will leave you breathless. Each character has been expertly drawn, the setting vivid, surprises I didn't see coming, there is brutality, a scary revelation and of course there is love. It's captivating how this story unfolds. Absolutely fascinating and intriguing. Highly recommended.

This is Isabella’s best work yet. Twisted Deception has strong characters and a well thought plot line. The closer I got to the end, the faster I read. She definitely has a page turner here. Well worth a read. Highly recommend it.

This book has too many loose ends. The reason Drake attacked Addie makes no sense. The "love story" between Grey and Addie has no development; no chemistry is apparent between them. The arrest of Grey and Addie is unbelievable. Aaargh. Not a great offering and it could have been wondeful had the author paid more attention to the details.

This outing from Isabella features Greyson Hollister and Addie Blake. Greyson is a high-powered corporate executive, doesn’t suffer fools easily, and is distant and known as the Ice Queen. She is mourning the death of her wife three years earlier. Addie is an employee of Greyson’s company. She’s in a relationship with a grease monkey who owns a garage and the relationship is fading. When she is attacked in one of the company’s elevators late one night, she is severely beaten and the cops thinks she’s the latest victim of the Elevator Rapist.The early pages of this book are intense and sets the tone for the rest of the novel. As Addie recovers from her ordeal at Greyson’s home, she must come to terms with what has happened to her and how her life will change. She also realizes how dysfunctional her relationship with Drake has become. As Greyson watches Addie deal with what has happened to her, she realizes she is attracted to Addie and knows she shouldn’t be.In the meantime, the detective in charge of the Elevator Rapist case must find the perpetrator before he finds his next victim.This book is a flawless mystery, a classic whodunit. The tension, which is palpable in the beginning of the book, continues through the book until the perp is caught – and has the reader shaking her head thinking, “I did not see that coming.”Unfortunately, the author failed to create real chemistry between the main characters because Greyson and Addie are both afraid. The reader suspects it’s there, but had Isabella not told her readers, we’d never have known it existed. Luckily, the love story isn’t central to the storyline.If you love mysteries with twists and a book that will keep you awake reading just one more page, one more chapter, read this book now. If you’re looking for the usual love story, this isn’t it.

Twisted Decaption is about greed so dark and evil that destroys humanity and any goodness that still exists. It’s about human’s desire to create a catastrophe so big that any action taken will be impossible to defuse it. Yet in the darkness there is still light, and hope. The author successfully depicts humanity at its lowest point and then offers glimpses of hope that can save and maintain what constitutes a human being. The main characters, although, face evil attacks they overcome the brutality and merge stronger than before. Loved the story, the plot is well developed, and all the unanswered twists are explained. I would have loved a bit more romance between Addie and Greyson but the ending was satisfing. Beautifully written and it apperamt that the author is well versed. It’s a wow read!!!

I have always loved every thing Isabella has written. This story is no different. It's well written with correct info on what someone would go through in the situations as in this story. Though the book does warn the cops are looking for a rapists and there is an attack. It would lead one to believe there would be a rape in the book. I would liked to have seen a disclaimer about the details, or could be sensitive to some people based on content at the start of the book. The detail of the kit being processed Isabella got spot on, it came to life in the words. Such so that I had to fast forward the pages until it was past that part.The build up of the who do what's made this a page Turner. You find people you love to hate, and learn you really can hate them even more. This book really does live up to its name.

I did prefer this book's straightforward formatting to the previous book. But . . .in my opinion, portions of the book are not age appropriate and overly graphic. I could MAYBE see giving this book to a 14 year-old child who is about to enter high school. However, there were a couple of issues I had with this book that really turned me away from it. The constant references to sexual activity being "pleasurable" and "feeling good" were a bit too much for my taste..And it is a running theme throughout this and the preceding book in the series. For example, this book discusses orgasm and both couples bodies "trembling." For an 11 year-old? Really? There are also detailed discussions on breast size (is bigger better?), oral sex, and incest. You be the judge. I am returning it in search for something a little less descriptive for an 11/12 year-old, where the authors aren't discussing "pleasure" on every other page. (Geez, enough already - I get it, but you go overboard and then you tell them to wait?)

I appreciate the effort. However, as my husband put it, this is somewhat like pornography for children. I purchased two of the books in the series, and found the material to be inappropriate, and at times too graphic. My teens do not need a description of oral sex, in order to know that it constitutes sexual intimacy outside of marriage. And my 10 year old does not need to know that an adult (pedophile) derives pleasure from touching a child's genitalia. Teaching children healthy physical boundaries should be the emphasis, without disturbing them.

I have all 4 books (The Story of Me, Before I Was Born, What's the Big Deal, and Facing the Facts) I have a 12, 10, and 5 year old. I have read books 1 & 2 to all 3 children. I gave my older child book 3 to read himself and will give him book 4 when I feel he is ready. I like knowing I am giving them the tools they need to live in this world. I looked through many books before deciding on this set. I am happy with these 4 books and recommend them if you are looking for information based on Christian beliefs.

Great book and was recommend by pastor. I would read it first and leave some stuff out depending on how mature your child is. Fantastic book an uses scripture and science.

This book was very helpful in having the "talk" It is written from a biblical perspective and explains God's design for sex. Would definitely recommend this book.

GREAT Christian-based series of books to teach the "facts of life" to children in an informative, non-intimidating way.

So thankful for this book. I bought this one and the level below it as well. It explains things in a way a child can understand without making it awkward for the both the child and parent. My favorite part is that it includes why waiting is so important. And why God cares about it.

My son was getting very curious and this book satisfied all of his questions when I sat down and had "the talk" with him.

It took me 2 days to read it!Little background about my kid's sleeping habits: I got "lucky" with my first being an amazing sleeper and my second definitely gave me a hard time, especially her naps at a young age and then when she was 5 months old she was getting sick so much her naps and nighttime sleep were awful. I literally read every book out there to get her to not wake up 3 or more times a night. They didn't work! Most other books I read were so hard to read and that made it even more stressful!After reading Brad and Greta's book it was the extra little boost I needed to get my daughter to sleep better. She is 10 months old and just started sleeping through the night with great naps! I wish I had this sooner, but I'm glad it's available now and would recommend this book to any new mom out there!

Kristina Rose lives in the small town she grew up in, Sweet Grove. She works at Mabel’s Diner as a waitress.Also working at Mabel’s is Jeffrey Berkley. Jeffrey is the cook and is Kristina Rose best friend.We also get to meet Mabel who is ‘mother hen’ to both Kristina Rose and Jeffrey.The story follows you through life for Kristina Rose and Jeffrey for the time before the surgery and after. Through realizations about themselves and each other.Through this journey you see how powerful love of friendship, family (biological and not) and God is. You also see that what and how we see ourselves isn’t always how others see us.I saw a lot of myself in this story for several reasons, but I loved the journey each took to get to the point of finding more than each other, but themselves. Self-confidence isn’t something that happens, you have to choose to have it.I know once you start reading that you will find yourself lost in the story and see a little of yourself in one of the characters.Definitely a book I would recommend reading.

Kristina Rose is a loving and caring woman. She's beautiful on the inside but she wants to be beautiful on the outside as well. She decides to have gastric bypass surgery. Will it help her accomplish her goals and improve her quality of life? Jeffrey, her friend, works with her at the diner. He loves to cook and wants to continue and with this job, but he's afraid. He doesn't want to tell his father that he's not going back to college and become a pharmacist like him. Does he have the strength to tell him his dreams? These two friends are at a crossroads. They are always there to support each other. Now they realize that they care for each other. It was touching to watch them open their hearts to love. I cared for Kristina Rose and Jeffrey. Their relationship was sweet and their faith touching. Their dialogue is heartfelt and filled with compassion and caring. I liked all the secondary characters and the setting. Melissa Storm put her heart into this story. This is a journey of personal triumph that touched me.

This is a must read. It This is the most realistic romance that I have read in a long time. It was easy to relate to Kristina Rose, who had been overweight for most of her life, and had a bypass surgery. I have friends who have had that surgery, and it certainly changed their lives, some good, and some not so good. The most important part of going thru the adjustment period, was knowing and believing that God Cares, and her friends cared about her. Her best friend Jeffrey, realized that he more than cared for ;her, but that he loved her. It was a terrible time to proclaim his love, because he never wanted her to think he loved her, because she was going to have a new gorgeous body. For anyone who has had this surgery, that is a genuine concern. This is such a heartfelt book. I couldn't put t down until I finished the book. The tone of this book was not so much about romance, but more about finding out who we are, and not doing things to please others, but being true to ourselves, of course with the help of God.

For many of us, there are times that we imagine what others think of us, and we let that rule our thoughts and actions. Often, those feelings of inferiority center around how we look. We imagine that others look down on us, and let those feelings color how we interact with others. This is the story of Kristina Rose and Jeffery. Both of them have image problems, and both are attracted to each other. However, each of them let their inferiority feelings prevent them from being open and honest about their developing feelings for one another. This author very skillfully handles topics that are seldom written about. As this story progresses, it becomes a joy to watch these two appealing young adults find their way to an open and honest relationship with one another. I highly recommend this book, and this author.

Love's Promise by Melissa Storm is the second book in The First Street Church Romances Series. It may be part of a series but it can be read as a standalone.I thought the first book in this series was cute and this book is just as good. Melissa manages to keep the story clean and upbeat while still delving into the ups and downs of confronting your issues and working through them.Kristina Rose thought having gastric bypass surgery would solve all her problems, but she quickly learned that her problems were much more complicated then that.Jeffrey, her coworker and friend, is dealing with problems of his own. He wants to please his parents and lead the life they have planned for him, but he knows it's not the life that will make him happy. He has to decide, please others or take care of himself.They both realized they have feelings for each other, but they're also realistic enough to know, they have to work through their issues before they can get serious.So in conclusion, if you are looking for a clean story that carries a message of learning self love, this is the book for you. The plot is very realistic and believable and I felt a real kinship with all the characters. They could have been any number of people in my life.

Tiffany Jenkins is an author, academic, broadcaster, and consultant on cultural policy. Her writing credits include the Independent, the Art Newspaper, the Guardian, the Scotsman (for which she was a weekly columnist on social and cultural issues) and the Spectator. She is an Honorary Fellow in Department of Art History at the University of Edinburgh; a former visiting fellow in the Department of Law at the London School of Economics and was previously the director of the Arts and Society Programme at the Institute of Ideas. Add ancient scoundrels, purloined artefacts, international plunder disagreements that stretch over millennia, and a dose of politics and you’ll find yourself happily engaged in “Keeping their Marbles.”That the treasures of antiquity — Egyptian, Greek, and Roman and beyond — landed in the World’s finest western museums is not in doubt. Yet how did artwork end up so far afield from original locations, and will they make it back to the homeland. Or should it. Discussed are these themes in this engaging book.Ms. Jenkins makes a compelling case for ancient treasures that found their way to the West, by means questionable or legal, to remain housed where they are. Artefacts in museums remain secure, accessible, and studied by museum pilgrims, historians, scholars, and the curious tourist who become acquainted with fine artefacts of antiquity in its wider historical and cultural context.

I did not reed this book and am only here to protest as a Greek born in the US who happened to be in Greece with a view of the Parthenon on the night that the towers fell in New York on 9/11/2001. I am here to say that this woman should be boycotted for her book against my heritage.
